In April of 2021, Gillian Roach, my cousin once-removed (my mother’s first cousin) and daughter to Hester Bruce (née Spriggs) very kindly passed on to me a family photo album of plates of the early Spriggs family (William Manser [6th] and Alice Josephine) in England dating from 1898 on their ‘Wedding Tour’ through to 1908 with a group photograph of their 4 children William, Robert, Alison and Hester.

I have very briefly ‘worked’ the images as I scanned them in, converting to a single, steady sepia tone and correcting density here and there in images as I could. *Much* could still be done with each image to improve it’s readability, but I’m not sure I have that many years left to live, there is so much to do!

Nevertheless, here are a few examples of where I started and the more-or-less finished tweak for presentation here. In the collection of thumbnails on the next page, click on each if you’d like to see the example image larger. There are 121 images in the album.
