I’ve chosen a handful of images for today’s post from a vast quantity of BW (and some colour) prints given to me to curate from my mother’s side of the family. There are so, so many wonderful images in the collection that I thought it might be fun to post some of them here.<\/p>\n

This is my maternal grandmother washing me in a mixing bowl, circa mid-1964. She terrified me as a child telling me she would fold me up in the dough she was kneading.<\/p>\n

My grandmother, again. Here, photographed as a young girl (on the right) in Trinidad, where she grew up.<\/p>\n

This is my grand uncle Bill, during a summer job in the capital. I think of him as grand, in that he seems patriarchal and calm and completely capable. He is 81 this year.<\/p>\n

This is my oh so cool uncle David and his BMW R50. He was the coolest dude I knew as a child. He still is. That’s me and my older sister Jennifer behind the bike and my grandfather to the right. The woman seated behind David is Grace Eve, an English friend of my grandparents.<\/p>\n

So cute! Little old English grandmothers. That is my great, great grandmother on the right, I believe.<\/p>\n
