Globe Family Christmas today. Its always held in the CBC atrium down on Front street. About a thousand Globe people (well, maybe 400 including family members), all sitting around eating christmas stuff, chasing after children, clutching hearts from the sidelines as little people tumbled around inside an enormous Bouncy Castle, handling snakes, getting faces painted, taking mini-train rides… and meeting the Big Guy. Much excitement, followed in short order by much trepidation. Owen was certain he would sit on santa’s lap and go over this year’s request – a remote control Taratula – but reality proved different and he declined a seat on the red velvet knee and Finney flat out refused to go up without Mama; so it turned into a 75% family affair. the last 25% got behind the camera:
Owen wanted to check out the snakes (at a Christmas party? You bet!) and so there we went:
Finney loved the little train rides and was more than pleased to offer up a flung-to-Dada raspberry each time she came ’round. I get no respect:
Owen and I stood in line for the Big Guy for yonks, snacking on sweets positioned along the waiting line:
Near the end of things, Owen very much wanted to go up and say goodbye to Santa personally. He surpised me by adding an un-prompted thank you into the bargain. Oh so proud was the other 25%!
