My amazing pal and friend and nemesis and beloved feline, Poum, has died.
You were deeply loved, Poumie, and I miss you greatly.

Tim, Poum was so sweet (even though I heard rumours about his previous transgressions). He was always sweet with us, just looking for a little body warmth, he was. This is a beautiful shot because he is basking in the sun and looks so relaxed. He was your boy. I know how difficult it is to lose a pet, and I know he symbolizes a relationship, but though the hole won’t go away, it will get smaller, just a pinprick of light, like a little star, Poum’s memory can be that…distilled down to something beautiful, because what you and Carrie gave him was a good, beautiful love-filled life, and that’s not anything you should be sad about.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Kathleen. By god Poum and I had our moments, but we were together for almost 15 years and I so admired his spirit and tenacity. I feel so immensely glad that he came my way among so many other possibilities.
Poum looks so lovely here. I am sorry for both your losses, so keenly intertwined. There is beauty in the light and the dark of this portrait and of all things. Wishing you back into the light.
I miss him too. You did such a loving job in changing him from a frighten angry feline, into the contented trusting Poumie that We all knew. I loved the way he snuggled into your neck when you picked him up.
