A few from last night and this morning.

I had hoped to get up on the inner (old) city wall for a walk this morning, as it apparently affords a nice view of the inner city layout (with the sunrise supplying some lovely light). There is an additional charge for this, of course. But sadly, the entrance is not allowed before 8am and I had arrived at 6:15am. Harold and I will try again this evening about 7pm (it closes once more at 8pm) to catch some nice light for our last evening in Khiva.

First a few images shot last night while wandering the north end of the inner city enclave. It is more residential and therefore not touristy and more ‘real’.

Tomorrow, we fly out from Khiva to Tashkent, spend a night there and then our fixer takes us by car to Kokand, through some of the Kun Lun range to the south and east of TK. Very much looking forward to this next leg. I hope to see some topography other than flat desert scrub.

Quite chuffed with this ‘decisive moment’ photo from last evening:

This cat shall henceforth be known as Lucinda.

I have named this cat Boris. That is his name now.
