Mornings this week and next I have been taking a Macromedia (or is that Adobe?) Flash course off-site from work. Work has paid for it and I am taking it with two other gents from the Globe, a newspaper/web designer and a just-web designer.

This program is one of the more difficult things I’ve been confronted with in recent memory. Flash is hard. PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign feel like a breeze compared to all the stuff you have to remember when learning/using Flash. What is Flash? It is a web-based tool to create animations (mainly, although it can produce static text, buttons, forms, etc as well). Here are some examples of Flash used online:

1) The right hand side of this page is all Flash and took our in-house developer at work weeks and weeks to produce: http://globeauto.com

2) Weebl and Bob

3) TVO Kids

So its intereresting to have to try and learn something extremely complicated within a short time frame and keep up with a manic instructor and not hiccup and lose track of what’s being taught or I’m swamped in 2 seconds flat. So, yeah. Its a challenge. Want to see some Flash, behind the scenes? Here:

No Soup 4 You!

And (not sure if this’ll display in WordPress… The result:

No Soup 4 You!

Off to work now…
