Major snowstorm hit Toronto today and there was a major (freight) train deraillement at one of the stations along the line to get home, so my company is putting me up in a shmancy hotel for the night. Woohoo! Room service is on its way up as I type (peppercorn steak rare, ‘natch), and I am loving the view.
I am 25 floors up looking South and West at the CN Tower directly and rail yard below it – and the parked trains that would have tried to get me home…
This laptop has a built-in camera with lots of cool filters on the video (I used the ‘glow’ filter on the following images), and so what’s a fella to do while food is being prepared? Well, I’m glad you asked….
…choons on my iPod…
Hi tim – I hope this gets to you – I lost your email address. I’ll make it short in case this doesn’t work (I do remember “fenris” as part of your email, but maybe you have two…)
Jeff & I bought some land (and a shack, 10′ x 15′) in Tortuguero, a small village of 800 on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The fishing lodge is for sale and we’ll be moving down in a couple of years. No roads, no cars – Jeff will be happy to be running a boat instead of a car!
So, I’m slowly divesting myself of all my stuff. When Dad moved back to Jamaica I got an early inheritance, so there’s a lot! I put up a list on the board here at the condo building, and a couple came by to get Jeff’s grandmother’s Singer sewing machine. He saw the photo you gave me of the elephant’s eye and totally fell in love with it. I hadn’t had it listed for sale, but of course I can’t take it to a rainforest (if you email me I’ll give you more info on what we bought). I love the photo, though it was a while before I could look at it for long, I find it very powerful. Anyway, he loved it too, and it’s always great to find a loving home for your treasures, so he has it now.
You may be interested to know who bought it: his name is Dave Rodney, he’s an MLA but he’s also the only Canadian to summit Everest twice, he’s a motivational speaker and seems like a heckuva nice guy.
I saw the pics of Finn & your Dad – does Finn ever look exactly like you!!!! Every now & then I think I should look your parents up.
I hope you & your family are in blooming health.
cheers,
Sue
